Henry C. Appleman, Jr. (Hank Appleman) went home to our Lord on August 31, 2021 at the age of 79, surrounded by his family in Saint John’s, Florida. A Philadelphia native, born on August 22, 1942, to the late Theresa Gray Appleman and Henry C. Appleman, Sr. Survived by his loving wife, Margaret Appleman of 55 years. Devoted Father of John Appleman (Christen), Maureen Maida (Salvatore) and Marsha Bridges (Jeremy). Predeceased by his son, Bryan Appleman, daughter, Michele Mosczczynski and son-in-law, Michael Mosczczynski, Sr. Brother of James D. Appleman (Koei). Proud grandfather of 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Michael Mosczczynski, Jr. (Emily); Nicholas Zagrocki (Kaylee); Andrew Bridges (Kayla); Ashley Bridges Sanger (Jonathan); Brennan Appleman; Emily Maida; Allison Bridges; Alex Bridges; Madison Appleman; Matthew Maida; and great-grandchild, Eli James Sanger.
Hank was well known for his kindness and generosity to all those he met. He enjoyed making people laugh and smile, always having his clown nose ready to go. He was very talented in many areas (musician - guitar, harmonica, piano), singer, artist, actor "Two Bits", photographer, small business owner, dog lover and even squirrel trainer. His faithful dog Maggie was his pride and joy. Hank was loved by all and well-known throughout the Philadelphia/Fishtown community, including the highway patrol as a former photographer. If you were lucky enough to receive one of his engraved pens or special photographs, consider yourself loved.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend memorial services on Saturday, October 9, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Lamb Funeral Home, 101 Byberry Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006. A Celebration of Life will follow at 11:30 am, immediately followed by a graveside service. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to contribute to a walkway stone in his memory at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (his favorite charity) can mail donations to: St. Jude’s, Memorial ID 22572836, P.O.
