

Herman Reitman died on Sunday May 6, 2012. He was 97 years of age. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Jacob and Emma Adelmen Reitman. He had lived in Jenkintown, PA for the last 10 years. He had previously been a resident of Del Ray Beach, FL and had been longtime resident of Northeast Philadelphia.
Mr. Reitman was a retired Enforcement Supervisor with the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board. He principally worked in the Philadelphia area. He was a member of the FOP and had served as the President of his Lodge.
Herman was an Army veteran of WW II, serving in the European Theater. He was a member of the VFW. He was also a member and former President of Brith Shalom.
Herman was the beloved husband of Beatrice Strickman Reitman for 72 years. He was the devoted father of Stephen Bruce Reitman of Jenkintown and the late Gary Ellis Reitman. He was the loving grandfather of Nicole (Richard) Ament, Heather (Rob) Martin, and Danielle (Mike) Weise; great grandfather of Corrine Mitten, Christopher Mitten, Philip Mitten, Eric Weise, Gary Martin, and Karly Weise. He is also survived by his sisters Molly (Mike) Kauffman, Sylvia (the late Albert) Miller, Beatrice (the late Jack) Bernstein.
Relatives and friends are invited to his memorial service 7 PM on Thursday May 10th at the Community Room of the Plaza 1250 Greenwood Ave., Jenkintown, PA 19046.
