Idelcia was born on November 18th, 1935, in Pilate Haiti. She was the loving daughter of Monkes Dieujuste and Rosina Ismael. She got married and had 8 children; Sulfide, Loune, Louna, Bea, Gessie, Jacqueline, Danielle and Chantalle. Idelcia became the sole provider for her children. She migrated to the US in 1980 where she continues to devote her life to her children.
Idelcia graduated from High School in Haiti. Idelcia went on to establish a career as an embroiderer. When she migrated to the US, she worked for Paul’s dry cleaner for many years until her retirement.
Idelcia loved to cook for her family and friends. She was sharp with a great sense of humor. She enjoyed watching her favorite shows: the "Honeymooners”, Everybody Loves Raymond, Jeopardy, and Wheel of Fortune. She adored world news and watched CNN often. Her favorite movie was “The Mannequin”. She lived in NY for many years, but Brooklyn held a special place in her heart. She later moved to Philadelphia to be with her children and grandchildren until she passed away peacefully on July 29th at home surrounded by her loved ones.
Idelcia was a caring, giving and loyal human being. Her whole life was in service to others.
Idelcia was preceded in death by her husband, Velan Chery, children Sulfide Dieujuste and Louna Dieujuste, grandchild Loubens, parents Monkes Dieujuste and Rosina Ismael, her siblings Aline Jean (Nee Dieujuste) and Michel Dieujuste.
Idelcia is survived by her children: Marie Magdaline Dieujuste, Rose Magdalina Dieujuste (dit Bea), Gessie Thweatt, her husband Tom, Danielle Perrier, Chantalle Bijoux, her husband Guynaud, and Jacqueline Dorelus. Grandchildren: Francia, Nathalie, Perrine, Cassandre, Freddy, Khoralee, Carl Jacob, Justin, Emma, TJ , Ethan, Daralyn, Gabriella, Theana, Molens, Fils Patrick. Great-Grandchildren: Evens Augustina, Shama, Jean-Athlends, Jephthe, Denaud. Siblings, Rosita Alce, Immacula Loyer, Gislene Vileus, Dieukes Dieujuste.
The visitation will be held at Lamb Funeral Home Inc., 101 Byberry Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006, on August 8, 2026, from 10AM to 12PM, immediately followed by a funeral service. Internment will take place at Forest Hills Cemetery, 25 Byberry Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006 after services around 1PM.
