

DZIERZA, Jane M., 95, of Margate, NJ died peacefully, with her family at her side, on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at Holy Redeemer Hospital in Meadowbrook, PA. Born October 29, 1918 in Philadelphia, PA she was the daughter of Edward and Mariana (nee Skrzypek) Pierog. She was a graduate of Northeast High School and worked as a welder during the Korean War. She proudly took on the title of “Rosie the Riveter” when reminiscing about her work during the war. For most of her life she was the owner/operator of several taverns. She was preceded in death by her 1st husband, John Dzierza in 1953 and by her 2nd husband Lester Douris in 2002. She was also preceded in death by a son, Jack Dzierza in 2009.
She is the beloved mother of Edward Dzierza and his wife, Parisa; and is the loving grandmother of five grandchildren: Catherine Mancino and her husband, Paul; Diana Dzierza; Jack Dzierza and his wife, Victoria; Joseph Dzierza and Carey Dzierza. She is also the devoted great-grandmother to six great grandchildren. She is also survived by a daughter in law, Jane Rush Dzierza
Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, 212 Welsh Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA with a Funeral Mass at 10:30 and interment to immediately follow at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery
