Jeanie Hagis, 96, formerly of Somerton and Hatboro, PA, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2025. Jeanie was born on February 10, 1929, in Philadelphia, to George and Jean McGregor. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, cherished by all who knew her for her class, dignity, and authenticity.
Throughout her life, Jeanie was an active member of her community and her church. Her involvement with the trustees and the altar guild at Somerton United Methodist Church were a testament to her faith and her lifetime of selfless service. Jeanie’s passion for politics often sparked lively discussions among friends and family. She was an enthusiastic supporter of the Temple Owls, rarely missing a game or an opportunity to cheer on her favorite team. Jeanie is survived by her devoted daughter, Joann Johnson (Dan) of Feasterville, PA, and her loving grandchildren, Daniel Johnson (Elisa) of Omaha, NE, Amanda Johnson of Atlanta, GA and Killian Hagis of Raleigh, NC. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, Peter Hagis, Jr., her dear son, Lt. Col. (USAF Retired) Peter Scott Hagis (Erika), and her brother John MacGregor of Waukesha, WI.
Jeanie always lived a very private, humble life. She requested that she be allowed to exit this world the same way that she lived, privately, so there will be no formal service. She will forever be remembered for her kindness, generosity, compassion and devotion to her family.
