He was a long-time resident of Philadelphia. John was born on July 22,1943 in Philadelphia, to parents John Edward Murray Sr. and Dorothy Murray (both deceased).
After high school, John joined and served in the US Navy. Once he was discharged from the Navy, John joined the Teamsters and drove for over 50+ years.
He was a Pennsylvania Railroad Trains Enthusiast and a member of the Pennsylvania Railroad. John loved traveling and exploring the United States and was also a long time member of the local VFW. John is survived by John Edward Murray “Sean” III, his son.
A visitation for John will be held Friday, July 18, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Lamb Funeral Home, 101 Byberry Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, followed by interment at George Washington Memorial Park, 80 Stenton Ave, Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462.
