Joseph S. Appell, age 34, passed away suddenly on Monday; November 14, 2011 in Philadelphia, PA. He was formerly of Holland, PA. Joe graduated from Council Rock High School in 1995, and Attended the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. He had many interests, including Sports and Music. He was also a talented, gifted artist and loved to read. He was loved by all people, who knew him for his kind loving heart. . Joe was the beloved son of Joanne ( Tom ) Davis, and Steve Appell. He will be sadly missed by his sister Kristen Appell, his son Alex, Many aunts, uncles, cousins , and by all who knew him.

I'm so sad to hear about Joe, I just happened to come across this and I'm in shock. I remember Joe from high school, we had great times. Mrs. Appell, I remember how sweet you were, this must be so difficult. I'm so sorry.

I am having a hard time putting my thoughts to words. I can remember playing hockey and listening to music with Joe like it was yesterday...and every thought that comes to mind puts a smile on my face. Joe was a great guy and I will always remember him.

I always thought of Joseph as soft-spoken, kind and the sweetest person I ever knew. A lot like his mother. It is a shame that I only got to see him on holidays... he was always a joy
