Mabel H. Curlett

Mabel Hasenmayer Curlett, age 101, of Coatesville, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2023 in Avon Lake, Ohio. She was born on December 10, 1921, in Philadelphia, PA, to William and Alberta Hasenmayer.

Mabel graduated from Abington High School.

She was active in her community as a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Coatesville, PA. She was also the President of the Chester County Symphony Association in the 1960s; she was an Army Nurse Corps Volunteer, and a Junior Golf Volunteer.

She was a loving wife to John Mahoney Curlett Jr. for 29 years. She was the perfect mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She had an angelic singing voice that everyone in the family loved. Mabel played a huge role in her children’s lives and was always the one to drive them everywhere: swim meets, junior golf events, soccer practice, and basketball practice. She worked in Exton, PA at Strawbridge and Clothier/Macy’s Department Store for 38 years.

Mabel is survived by her three children: John (Emmie) Mahoney Curlett III, of Charleston, South Carolina, Joyce Curlett Minnier, of Peoria, Arizona, and Mark (Gail) William Curlett, of Fayetteville, Arkansas; her seven grandchildren: Bryan (Shantel) Curlett, Bret (Nina) Curlett, Amy (Kevin Yannone) Minnier, Jennifer (Shawn) Heather, Todd (Jenny) Minner, John (Samantha) Mahoney Curlett IV, and Cindy (Todd) Truitt; and by her 14 great grandchildren: Johnathan, Brandon, Carter, Regan, Leilia, Corbin Tripp, Grey, Jackson, Lucas, Lucas, Jack, Tinsley, and Todd Jr.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John Mahoney Curlett Jr, her parents, William and Albert Hasenmayer, and her son-in-law, Steven Harley Minnier, and her three brothers, William, Donald, and Wayne Hasenmayer.

A visitation for Mabel will be held Monday, July 10, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Lamb Funeral Home Inc., 101 Byberry Road, Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania 19006. Followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM. An interment will occur Monday, July 10, 2023 at 12:00 PM at Forest Hills Cemetery, 25 Byberry Road, Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania 19006.
