

Malcolm was born on October 8, 1930 in Stacy, TX, to parents, John and Ivy Rollins. He graduated from Spur High School in 1949. He continued his education, graduating from Texas Tech University with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Malcolm went on to establish a career as an Electrical Engineer, moving to Pennsylvania to work for Philco, and then working for AEL & Amplifier Research until he retired at 78 years old. In addition, Mr. Rollins served in the US Army for 5 years and was Honorably Discharged in 1956.
Treasurer of the New Britain Borough Civic Assoc. for many years, Malcolm spent a lot of time helping to maintain the Covered Bridge Park. Malcolm also served as an usher and sound system recorder for the New Britain Baptist Church. Malcolm loved watching football no matter who was playing and gardening in his backyard. He also enjoyed eating out with his wife Jan.
Malcolm is survived by his wife of 59 years, Janet Moore Rollins, daughter, Debi Umstead (Jerry) of Quakertown, son, Rick Rollins of Blue Bell, and two grandchildren, Nicole Umstead and Ryan Umstead, and his brother Alan Rollins (Judy) of McKinney, TX.
He was preceded in death by his sisters Johnnie Hamilton (Bill) and Peggy Gandy, as well as brother Lindy Rollins (Joyce).
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his services Saturday, December 7, 2024 in the Wayside Chapel at Whitemarsh Memorial Park, 1156 Horsham Road, Ambler, PA 19002. The memorial gathering will begin at 10:30AM, followed by the memorial service at 11:00AM. The inurnment will be held privately after the services.
