Maria A. Schwemlein died on Monday, October 15, 2018 at her residence. She was 95 years of age. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Magdalena Buttil. Maria had lived in Quakertown for the past thirty-eight years, she was previously a longtime resident of Feasterville.
Maria was a retired employee of the Johnsville Naval Air Development Center in Warminster. She had previously worked at the Signal Corp in Philadelphia.
Mrs. Schwemlein was a Communicant of the St. Philip Neri Catholic Parish in Pennsburg and was a former member of the Assumption BVM Parish in Feasterville.
Maria was a member of the Upper Buck Senior Citizen Center in Quakertown. She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing cards and dancing. Maria was a former member of the Untied German Hungarian Club in Oakford.
Marie was the beloved wife of Hans Schwemlein for thirty years before his death in 1978. She was the devoted mother of Rosemarie Huey (the late Robert C.) of Quakertown. She was the loving grandmother of Tristan Lee Huey (Candace) of Quakertown and Driu Robert Huey of Kutztown. She was the great grandmother of Gauge Tyler, Cole Rylee Huey and Kimber Everly. She was the sister of the late Nicolas Buttil.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, October 19, 2018 from 10 to 11 AM at the Assumption BVM Church, 1900 Meadowbrook Road (at Bristol Road), Feasterville, PA 19053. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM. Maria’s internment will follow in Lawnview Cemetery in Rockledge.
