Mary worked as a nurse for more than 40 years at Temple University Hospital and the Visiting Nurse Association of Philadelphia. She particulary loved her work as a visiting nurse because it gave her the time to really get to know her patients and their families and make a positive impact on their lives.
Mary's greatest passion in life was her love for the animal kingdom: dogs, cats, wildlife, sea turtles, dolphins - every creature great and small. Two of her favorite animal welfare organizations were Friends of Felines Rescue Center in Defiance, Ohio and City of Elderly Love in Philadelphia.
She is survived by her life partner of 51 years, Randi Alyce Martin, and beloved sisters Susan Peterson, and Sandy DeRosa. She dearly loved her sisters' children and spoke of them nearly every day, recalling all their great adventures together.
