Mike was born on August 28, 1951, in Philadelphia and was raised in the Olney section by his parents, the late Harry and Betty Ross.
Mike was the devoted husband of more than 56 years to his beloved wife, Jo-Ann (Hennessey). Mike and Jo-Ann first met while attending Dobbins High School, where their lifelong love story began. Together, they built a life centered on love, family, and unwavering devotion. They shared a passion for traveling, creating countless cherished memories with family, cousins, and their best friends, especially during visits to their favorite destination, Aruba.
Mike was the proud father of Michael (Colleen) and the cherished grandfather of Allison and Paige, who brought him endless joy. He was their biggest cheerleader and rarely missed an opportunity to watch them play, always supporting and encouraging them from the sidelines.
He is also survived by his brother, Ronald Ross; his sisters-in-law, Linda, Kathy, Susan (Willie), Robin, Gail (Brian), and Kim (Sean); along with many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. Mike was preceded in death by his brother, Harry Ross; his brother-in-law, James (Andria); and his sister-in-law, Ria.
Mike dedicated 57 years of his career to the flooring industry and was a proud member of Local Union #1823. He was an avid golfer who enjoyed many rounds with friends as a member of both The Ashton League and The Dart League. Whether on the golf course, cheering on his beloved Philadelphia sports teams, or spending time with family, Mike found joy in the people and activities he loved most.
Mike will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his love of family, his beloved grand-dogs, Peanut and Stella, his hardworking spirit, his loyal heart, and the kindness he shared with everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love, dedication, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
