Mitchell Wright Sr.

Born in Norfolk, VA, he later moved to Philadelphia.

Mr. Wright was a welder for the Dodge Steel Company in Philadelphia, PA, prior to retiring.

Mitchell was a caring man that loved helping people. Family gatherings were extremely important to him. He enjoyed hosting picnics in the summer and having the family holiday dinners at his home. He cherished time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In his free time he worked on cars and was a man of all trades.

Mr. Wright was pre-deceased by his loving wife, Mary Louise Burke Wright in 2006, and his children, Mitchell Wright Jr. in 1999, Bruce Wright in 2002 and Kim O’Loughlin in 2006. Surviving are his four children; Yvonne Burke, Constance Trenton, Cubby Wright and Tammy Wright, his 17 grandchildren; Lisa Burke, Sean Witherspoon, Doug Witherspoon, Mariah Wright, Timothy Wright, Toni Parker, Nancy Ford, Tamara Sledge, Leeza Sledge, Mitchell Wade, Bruce Barrett, Anthony Barrett, Jamarr Barrett, Rueben Wright, Brucie Wright, James Robinson and Stacey Robinson, his 18 great-granchildren; Heidi, JohnLuke, Lizza and Noah Constantine Wright, Ashley and Danielle burke, Alexander Greene, Tahirah, Nahsir and Reuben Wright, Jr., Jamariah and Jaydn Barrett, James and Jamir Robinson, Tysheim, Iyanna, Breyanna and Charlie Rose Robinson and his four great-great-grandchildren; Jaysen, Jay Alaric, Elcide and Fitz Oliver Wright.

Friends and family are invited to gather on Thursday, January 19, 2017, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Lamb Funeral Home, 101 Byberry Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006. Services will be held at 1:00 pm with the interment to follow at Forest Hills Cemetery, Huntingdon Valley, PA.
