Nick was the beloved husband of Patricia M. Uva before her passing in 2014. He is the loving father of the late Nicholas Uva, Jr. and Patricia M. Uva-Roberts as well as Edward M. Roberts.
He will be sadly missed by his 4 grandchildren, Kristine, Nathan, Nicholas and Nichole, his sisters Carmela O’Neill and Lucille Duffy as well as Hughie O’Neill and his many nieces and nephews, close friends and by all who knew and cared for him.
Nick was raised in Philadelphia, where he met his wife of 50 years in a restaurant working as a cook and Pat working as a waitress.
After a short courtship they married and moved to Warminster, PA where they opened a successful pizza shop named Uva’s Pizza.
Nick really enjoyed cooking and baking and decided to close the shop and start making gourmet meals. He worked in many well-known restaurants and was written up for his chef skills in multiple newspapers. He really enjoyed making people happy by preparing foods they enjoyed, it brought great joy to him. Later he worked at and retired from Doylestown Hospital as a head dietician where he made many nurses, doctors and patients palates happy!
Nick not only enjoyed and was an excellent cook and baker. He also enjoyed going to flea markets, fishing, hunting and woodworking.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family on Saturday, June 16, 2018 from 10 am to 11:45 am at the Lamb Funeral Home, 101 Byberry Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006. His service will follow at 11:45 am in the funeral home. His interment will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery which is located at the same location.
