Rhoda was born in Philadelphia, PA to Harry and Gertrude Barr. She graduated from North East High school in Philadelphia.
Rhoda was very popular amongst her peers and her friends. To know her was to love her. She was funny, outspoken and had a wonderful personality and a great sense of humor. She was active in the Seymour Slifkin Cancer Research Center, Philadelphia Chapter and the Jewish War Veterans Assoc. She loved to shop, she loved fashion, and never left the house without looking her absolute best. She loved crocheting, cooking, playing bingo, watching reality shows, and online slots. She loved the beach with a passion and had fond memories of the Jersey Shore.
Rhoda worked as a receptionist for many years.
Rhoda married the late Leonard Tripler and this union produced three sons. The late David, Brett and Marc (Dawn).
Rhoda married Saul H.Chernow on June 10, 1990. This year they would have celebrated their 30th anniversary. They loved to travel and visited many places during their time together.
She was preceded in death by her husband Leonard, and her beloved son, David.
Rhoda is survived by her husband Saul H. Chernow, her sons Brett and Marc, her grandchildren: Carly, Hailey, her beloved Ry-Ry, sister- in-law Mrs. Marilyn Chernow-Benshettler, and her cats Shayna and Misty, whom she adored.
