Richard was born in Abington, PA, to parents, Harry E. Hamilton and Lillian Hamilton (nee Clark). Richard loved to hunt and fish with his family, vacation at the New Jersey Shore, watch western and war movies, spend time in nature, and speak to anyone and everyone he met during his day-to-day.
Richard earned a living and supported his family as a concrete mason. They say a mason leaves a piece of themselves in everything they build, and this was never truer than with Richard. As a self-made master of his craft, he learned the art of masonry through trial, error, and unwavering grit. Richard could look at a patch of dirt and see the potential for a beautiful patio, a winding walkway, or a welcoming set of stairs. He built the hidden strengths of homes through solid foundations and basements and brought joy to families through the concrete pools he constructed across the USA. He leaves behind a legacy as solid and enduring as the concrete he poured.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Lillian; his brothers, James (Jackie Stout, Dorothy Cherrier), Carl (Elaine Chapman), Henry (Janet Mathews), and Elwood; and his sisters, Janet, Kay, Elaine Landers (Jack).
Richard is survived by his wife, Kathleen Louise Hamilton (nee Nonemaker); his children, Doreen Lynn Cramsey and Richard Dean Hamilton Jr. (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Abbeygale, Corey (Bethany), Michelle (Anthony), and Patrick; his great-grandchildren, Alice, Jax, Kallie, Maverick, Mia, and Zoey; his brothers, Paul and David (Rose Angel, Doris Wilson); his sisters, Joan Davis (James) and Dee Ciocca (Michael); and many nieces and nephews.
