Robert Christopher Melish

July 14, 1959March 17, 2020

Robert Christopher Melish was born on July 14, 1959 to Leo and Dolores Melish in the Fox Chase section of Northeast Philadelphia. Held by his family, he passed away peacefully at home on March 17, 2020. He was a loving presence to his family and in the lives of many. He was a loving in-law to the Camacho, Moya, Carpio, Comprado, Konrath, Gonzales, Minella, DaEira and Leviste families and a loving cousin to the Sharpe siblings. He took pride in his work and was Head of the Computer Aided Design Group at Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory in Princeton University at the time of his death.

He is deeply loved and missed by many, most especially by Jo-An (wife), Morgan (daughter), Dolores (mother), Edie (sister) and Gehen (mother-in-law).

"I am lucky," he said three days before he passed away. Even luckier are the people whose lives he touched.

A memorial service will be announced later.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Jefferson Home Care and Hospice.

Robert was gentle, kind, loving and caring. He was a proud father, devoted to both Morgan and his wonderful wife. Above all, Robert was A man of great integrity. What he said he would do, he always did. Everyone who knew him will miss him.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Rob's family and friends. I worked briefly with him at PPPL but during this time he was always very pleasant and he kept a smile on his face. May God's loving arms surround you during this difficult time.

What a shock! A nice person such as Robert has gone too soon. He was so nice to me anytime I responded to his computer problem. I will always miss him, and I know Almighty God has prepared a better place for him.

I remember that smile he always had on his face. He was at every sleepover we had at Morgan’s. Always making sure we were okay and asking if we needed anything. That man lit up the room the minute he walked into it. Rest In Peace Mr. Iconic.
