Ronald Jay Gordon Sr.

Ronald was a long-time resident of The Village of Neshaminy Falls over 55 community in North Wales PA, where he many friends and meaningful relationships over the last 15 years. Ron was born on May 9, 1942 in Philadelphia, PA, to his parents Robert Gordon, and Edith Perkis. Ron worked as a “big-rig” truck driver, specializing in the transportation of oil and other flammable liquids/chemicals. After a very tragic accident, which occurred in 1989 that led to multiple surgeries to his leg and back, Ron’s career was cut short. He then spent many days doing what he loved most, carpentry. Although it was his hobby, Ron was a very skilled carpenter, and many of his family and friends are still enjoying their tables, chairs, fences, decks, closets, etc. But not because of his skill, but because of his willingness to help his friends and family. His humor, and ability to engage just about anyone in conversation, to include complete strangers is how we should all remember Ron.

Ronald J. Gordon Sr. is survived by his wife, Marion Gordon, his children; Ronald Gordon, Jr., Denise Knights, and Nicole Kelly, his stepchildren; Jeffrey Pittner and Tracy Agnew, and his 15 grandchildren/step grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren/stepchildren to whom he was known as Poppop Ron.

In respect of Ronald’s Last Will and Testament, Ronald will be cremated, and did not wish to have a funeral, any kind of service, or memorial. However, to honor Ron’s life, and the many things he did to help his family and/or friends, his wife Marion Gordon asks that anyone reading this obituary refrain from sending flowers, cards, fruit baskets, etc., and make a small donation to the SPCA on behalf of Ronald J. Gordon Sr. Anyone who knew Ron also knew he was the definition of an animal lover.
