Betty "Imo" Imogene Gilbert

Betty Imogene “Imo” Gilbert, 95 of Andrews passed away on Friday December 1, 2023 at Parkview Wabash Hospital in Wabash. Imo worked as a nurse’s aide for 26 years at the Wabash County Hospital. She had also worked at Woolworth McLellans Kitchen Maid in Andrews as well as helping her late husband on the farm. She was a member of Dora Christian Church. She enjoyed her pets, movies, fishing, traveling, and NASCAR. Imo loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Imo was born May 6, 1928 in Andrews a daughter of the late Ward and Violet (Galbraith) Denman. She was united in marriage to Keith Gilbert on April 16, 1946 in Lincolnville. He preceded her in death on April 14, 2008. Survivors include three sons: Dennis Gilbert of Andrews, Jerry Gilbert of Huntington, and Ronald (Barbara) Gilbert of Wabash; three daughters: Shirley (John) Shellenbarger of Wabash, Deborah (Tom) Niccum of Wabash, and Beverly (Stan) Garroitt of Andrews; a brother: Jim Denman of Huntington; 20 grandchildren, 34 Great grandchildren, and 22 Great Great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister: Martha Pollock, and two nieces: Pam Jones and Patty Overstreet. Visitation will take place on Wednesday December 6 2023 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington, Indiana. Funeral services will take place on Thursday December 7, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at the Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service.
