

Betty Louise Hirschy, 83 of Fort Wayne passed away at 9:45 p.m. on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at University Park Health and Rehabilitation in Fort Wayne. She had attended Parkwood Church of God in Fort Wayne. She was a former member of the Etna Avenue Wesleyan Church in Huntington. She worked as a cook in food service at Huntington Memorial Hospital for over 22 years, retiring in 1991. She had worked at Schact Rubber Company in Huntington for many years. She loved flowers, crocheting and reading.
She was born on October 7, 1928 in Huntington County, a daughter of Charles C. and Helen (Pope) Miller.
She was united in marriage to Ansel Hirschy on March 28, 1947 in Fort Wayne. He preceded her in death on September 1, 1987.
Survivors include a son: Charles A. (Margaret) Hirschy of Findlay, OH; a daughter: Vi (Leonard) Saffen of Fort Wayne; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother: Virgil Miller and a sister: Devota Eileen Miller.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 18, 2012 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.
Funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 18, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. following visitation at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel with Pastor Jerry felts officiating.
Interment will be at the Lancaster Cemetery in Lancaster, Indiana.
