Carolyn A. Stevens-Allen, 87 of Huntington, passed away Sunday afternoon August 16, 2026 at home surrounded by her family. Over the years Carolyn worked many jobs, she was a commercial artist for several years at Memcor. She served as a waitress and bartender for several establishments including the Omega and the Heidelberg. Carolyn also ran a pre-school in her home for many years. She was a former member of the Huntington Jaycees and served as a Girl Scout and Brownie leader for many years. Carolyn loved to crochet, making many blankets and items for the family. She was a wonderful seamstress making most of the clothing for her daughters in their younger days. Carolyn most recently enjoyed painting, calligraphy, watching westerns and listening to music.
Carolyn was born on January 30, 1939 in Wabash, a daughter of the late Billie D. and Mary E. (Schoeff) Kilander.
She was first married to Dick D. Reed in 1959 and he preceded her in death on December 24, 1960. She later married Glen E. Stevens on May 12, 1962 and he preceded her in death on December 3, 1973. She then married Richard E. Allen in January of 1974 and he preceded her in death on November 11, 2021.
Survivors include three daughters: Kathy Follin of Huntington, Sherrie Vienneau of Orlando, FL and Patti Stabb of Brunswick, GA; eleven grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son Dickie Reed; a grandson Billie Cooper and two sisters: Loretta J. and Sandra S.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will take place on Thursday, August 20, 2026 for 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington, Indiana.
A Memorial Service will also take place on Thursday, August 20, 2026 immediately following the gathering at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
