Obituary of Dollie E. Smith

Dollie E. Smith, 91 of Huntington, passed away on the morning of May 31, 2024 at The Waters in Huntington. Dollie worked at H.K. Porter in Huntington for over 25 years. She had also worked for C.F. Goma in Columbia City and Richards Restaurant in Huntington. Dollie loved to sing Karaoke, and she enjoyed quilting and crocheting. She was a member of the American Legion Post 85 and attended church at the First Baptist Church in Ossian and Charity Baptist in Huntington. Dollie was born on February 22, 1933 in Dallas County, Arkansas. A daughter of the late Ed Watson and Flora G. Lea. Survivors include a son:David Smith of Huntington; Two daughters: Deb (David) Hueber of Merriam IN and Jeri (Brent) Smith-Morgan-Phillips of New Hope Arkansas; a daughter-in-law: Carol Smith of Huntington; ten grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son: George Smith; a son-in-law: Phillip Morgan; a grandson: Brian Morgan; two brothers: Charlie Sparks, and Jack Watson; and two sisters: Bertha Sparks, and Gracie Ione-Watson. Visitation will be held on Wednesday June 5, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington, Indiana. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday June 6, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. with one hour of visitation prior to the service. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel. Interment will take place at Markle Cemetery Memorial donations can be made out to first Baptist Church in Ossian, sent in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington, Indiana.
