

Edra Diann Merritt, 61 of Huntington passed away at 1:02 p.m. on Thursday, November 3, 2011 at home with her family. She was a 1968 graduate of Huntington County Community High School where she was elected the school’s first Homecoming Queen. She had worked at Edward Jones Investments for several years. She was a lifetime member of the Association for Research and Enlightment. She is a published author and poet with on the air radio readings of her writings. She was a 2009 graduate of the University of Science and Philosophy. She is also an accomplished designer and interior decorator.
She was born on March 14, 1950 in Huntington, the daughter of Richard M. and Maxine M. (Jacobs) Dinius.
She was united in marriage to Jack L. Merritt on May 12, 1981 in Kingwood, Texas and also on May 21, 1981 in Galveston, Texas.
Survivors include her husband: Jack L. Merritt of Huntington; her mother: Maxine M. Dinius of Huntington; a daughter: Tammy R. Holman and a son: Anthony R. Holman both of Oak Harbor, WA; a brother: Gerald “GR” Dinius of Howell, MI; a grandson: Alex B. Uy and a granddaughter: Jade N. Holman.
She was preceded in death by her father: Richard M. Dinius and a brother: Harold “Harry” Dinius.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, November 7, 2011 at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.
