Franklin G. “Frank” Campbell, 98 of Huntington passed away at 9:45 pm on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at The Heritage of Huntington. Frank served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the Pacific Theater and participated in five major invasions. He went through Typhoon Cobra in December of 1944. He was one of the founders of the former Millington Truck Body Company where he spent most of his working career as a salesman and sales manager. He also volunteered at LOVE, Inc. and had his own bicycle ministry out of his garage. He was a 50 year member of First Baptist Church where he served in many different offices; Gideon’s International, United Commercial Travelers of America and was a past president of Indiana Baptist Men’s Association. Frank was born on May 31, 1920 in Marietta, Ohio, the son of James O. and Martha J. (Scott) Campbell. He was united in marriage to Lucy A. Ayers on December 23, 1941 in Belpre, Ohio. She preceded him in death on June 23, 2002. Survivors include a daughter: “Lu” Ellen Reeves of Huntington and three grandchildren: Brooke Reeves, Paige Kagin and Stacy Reeves all of Fort Wayne. He was preceded in death by a son: James F. Campbell. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at 1:00 pm following visitation at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel with Pastor Ray Scribner officiating. Interment will be at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Huntington County. Memorial donations can be made out to Gideon’s International Bibles in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
