Gregory D. Hubartt, 76 of Roanoke, passed away on Tuesday evening, August 5, 2025, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Greg was a 1966 graduate of Lancaster high school; he later received his master's degree in engineering. Greg served his country in the U.S. Navy, serving three tours in Vietnam. He worked many jobs over the years; he was an auto and diesel mechanic and most recently was an over the road truck driver. He loved fishing, working on small engines, steam and hit and miss engines and tractor and auto restoration. He enjoyed racing, restoring John Deere tractors and Hot Rods. Greg loved spending time with his family and the kids in his life. He enjoyed eating beef jerky, popcorn, gummies and ice cream. He was the "The Boss" in all that he did in life.
Greg was born on May 4, 1949, in Huntington, a son of the late Paul D. and Ethel I. (Smith) Hubartt.
He was united in marriage to Annette B. Clemens on May 29, 1994, in North Webster, Indiana.
Survivors include his wife: Annette Hubartt of Roanoke; eight sons: David M. (Jodi) Jones of Charlotte, MI, Scott A. Hubartt of Charlotte, MI, Paul W. (Lisa) Hubartt of Leslie, MI, Chris M. Hubartt of North Manchester, Ryan (Sherist) Hubartt of Andrews, Michael C. Rankin of Andrews, Stephen A. (Dana) Rankin of Huntington, Burton A. (Anne) Rankin of Elkhart: five daughters: Tracy R. (Robert) Hunter of Charlotte, MI, Monica S. Hubartt of Charlotte, MI, Tina M. (Jodi) Stephens of Warren, Robyn E. (Wade) Leach of Huntington, Crystal J. Murray of Hartford City; three brothers: Roger Hubartt of Roanoke, Howard Hubartt of Fort Wayne, Mark (Kimberly) Hubartt of Arkansas; thirty-six grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, from 9:00am - 11:00 am with a funeral service following the visitation at 11:00 am at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.
Interment will be at the Marion National Cemetery in Marion, Indiana.
