Howard Schilling Jr.

Howard Schilling, Jr., 80 of Huntington passed away at 4:21pm on Monday, November 11, 2013 at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne. Howard was a 1951 graduate of Huntington Township High School. Howard was a farmer his entire life. He was a Mt. Etna Volunteer Fireman and was a member of the Mt. Etna United Methodist Church. Howard was born on March 3, 1933 in Huntington, a son of Jacob Howard and Nova (Rusher) Schilling. Howard was united in marriage to Donna Richardson on August 19, 1954 in Columbia City. His wife survives. Additional survivors include two daughters: Marilyn (Dale) Rumple of Mt. Etna; Lori (Bryan) Gass of California; two brothers: Arden Schilling of Huntington; Paul Schilling of Illinois; a son-in-law: John Etter of Huntington; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter: Connie Etter and three brothers: Hugh Schilling, Harold Schilling and Arlo Schilling. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2013 from 2:00 – 4:00pm and 6:00 – 8:00pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana. Funeral service will be held on Friday, November 15, 2013 at 10:00am at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel. Interment will be at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made out to American Cancer Society or American Heart Association both in care of Myers Funeral Home 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
