

Jack C. Schug, 86 of Huntington passed away at 2:35 pm on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at The Tipton Place. Jack attended Berne High School and later received his diploma in 1948 after returning from the war. He was a WWII U.S. Army veteran who served in Japan. He had worked for the Erie Lackawanna Railroad for 11 years, S.S. Electric, Inc. for 11 years and later at H.H. Niswander for 15 years, retiring in 1993. He was a member of the VFW Post 2689 of Huntington, Bass Masters and was in the fishing hall of fame. He was co-founder of the Huntington Bass Masters.
Jack was born on August 22, 1928 in Berne, Indiana, a son of Walter and Lenora (Yoss) Schug.
He was united in marriage to Martha Zuercher in 1948 in Berne, Indiana. She preceded him in death in January of 1976. He later married Shirley Sharp on December 6, 1976 in Huntington. His wife survives.
Additional survivors include two sons: Ronald (Jean) Schug of Andrews; Randy Schug of Fort Wayne; three daughters: Rhonda (Dan) Nightingale of Churubusco; Rochelle Wamsley of Huntington; Renee Guhl of Huntington; two stepdaughters: Shelley McCutchon of Huntington; Melissa (Erik) Strass of Huntington; a sister: Alice Stevens of Bluffton; 7 grandchildren; 5 step grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother: Paul Schug and a sister: Shirley Sprunger.
There will be no visitation or funeral service.
