

Jason R. Phillips, 55 of Huntington, passed away on Sunday morning August 2, 2026, at his residence. Jason was a 1989 graduate of Huntington North High School, and a 1994 graduate of Purdue University. Jason worked as a math teacher at Huntington North High School for seven years, where he also served as an assistant coach on the baseball team. He then worked as an engineer at M&S Sheet metal for 10 years. Jason loved sports and was longtime board member and coach for Huntington County Baseball. He was an avid Boston Red Sox and Purdue Boilermaker fan. Along with is love of sports, Jason enjoyed listening to music and attending concerts, especially Sammy Hagar. He will be greatly missed.
Jason was born on October 16, 1970, in Huntington. A son of the late Jerald J. and Sharon K. (Landes) Phillips.
He is survived by a son: Hunter Phillips of Huntington; a brother: Jeff Phillips of Huntington; two nieces: Macy (Nick) Aouhalkah of Huntington, and Madison Phillips of Huntington; and a nephew: Montana Phillips of Huntington.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
