Jerry D. Miller, 74 of Huntington passed away on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Parkview Regional Medical Center. Jerry attended Warren High School, and had attended Gethsemane Ministries Baptist Church. He had worked at Majestic Corporation for over 45 years, retiring in 2008. He went to The Huggy Bear on Etna Avenue for breakfast nearly everyday. Jerry was known as the “TIRE GUY” helping anyone with their needs. His grandchildren were the joy of his life.
Jerry was born on July 8, 1944 in Warren, the son of Virgil and Helen (Oswalt) Miller.
Survivors include a son: Jim Miller of Huntington; three grandchildren: Joel (Jamie) Miller, Brandon Miller, Samantha (Daniel Zahm) Preston; five great grandchildren: Christian, Kaden, Haley, Connor and Blake; a daughter-in-law: Valerie Miller and a nephew: Keith (Dawn) Miller of Huntington.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother: Roger Miller.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 from 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at 11:00 am with one hour of visitation prior to the service at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel with Pastor Worley Newsome officiating.
Interment will be at the Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Memorial donations can be made out to Helping Paws Pet Haven in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
