Joyce E. Truitt, 87 of Fort Wayne passed away on February 15, 2022 at her residence. Joyce was a 1952 graduate of Lancaster High School in Huntington County. She had attended Manchester University and studied tailoring. She was a sorority sister for PSI IOTA SI. Joyce was an avid gardener and loved to travel. She was a member of Central Christian Church in Huntington and The Chapel Church in Fort Wayne.
Joyce was born on April 23, 1934 in Muncie, Indiana, the daughter of the late Paul L. and Frances (Rench) Weaver, Sr.
She was united in marriage to Robert L. Truitt in June of 1955 in Huntington. Robert preceded her in death in June of 1996.
Survivors include a daughter: Joan (Michael) Courtney of Fort Wayne; a son: Thomas Truitt of Meadows of Dan, VA; a granddaughter: Amelia Courtney; three sisters: Martha Stephen of Huntington, Carolyn (Jack) Flaugher of Liberty Center, IN, Jane Schenkel of Huntington; three brothers: Paul (Carolyn) Weaver, Jr. of Lanark, IL, Jim (Carolyn) Weaver of Mt. Morris, IL, Joe (Carolyn) Weaver of Fairfield, IA.
She was preceded in death by a brother: John Weaver.
There will be a Private Gathering of Family. No public visitation or services.
Interment will be at the Lancaster Cemetery.
