Kenneth J. Hartmus, 50 of Roanoke passed away on March 6, 2022 with loving family at his side. Ken was a 1990 graduate of Stevenson High School in Livonia, Michigan. In his younger years, he worked as a paperboy for his dad with the Detroit News and at a sign shop creating and installing graphics. He attended University of Michigan in Ann Arbor where he earned a BS in Electrical Engineering. He worked as a Senior Hardware Engineer at Intel Corporation in Folsom, California, helping to develop the Pentium and Pentium OverDrive Processors. After leaving Intel, he joined Economy Machine Products in Roanoke, Indiana as a Product Engineer. In 2002, he started his final and most beloved job as a stay-at-home dad. Ken was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Huntington and was a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid hockey fan and enjoyed supporting his dad and brother off the ice as a water boy and statistician. He loved spending time with his family, reading Green Eggs and Ham, and long drives, especially if there was apple cider at the other end. More than anything, he was a man of deep faith with devotion to Divine Mercy and the Eucharist.
Ken was born on September 4, 1971 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Kathleen A. DeVergilio of Novi, Michigan and the late Ronald S. Hartmus.
He married Julie A. Williams on April 25, 1998 in Huntington. Julie survives.
Additional survivors include two daughters: Jessica and Laura Hartmus of Roanoke; a brother: Ron (Sharon) Hartmus, Jr. of Novi, MI; two sisters: Susan (Matt) Hiser of Wixom, MI, Ann Marie (David) Kochanek of Ann Arbor, MI; a mother-in-law: Jean Williams of Columbia City; a brother-in-law: Jerod (Karen) Williams of Huntington and 14 beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceeded in death by a father-in-law: Randy Williams.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2022 from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm with Rosary Recitation/Chaplet of the Divine Mercy at 7:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.
Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 11, 2022 at 10:00 am at the St. Mary Catholic Church, 903 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, Indiana.
Interment will be at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Huntington County.
