Kirby Kersey, 89 of Roanoke passed away on Monday, January 18, 2021 at Parkview Huntington Hospital. He was a member of Kirby Baptist Church in Arkansas. Most of his adult life he was a master auto mechanic. Kirby was a foster parent that loved and cared for over 100 foster children through the years. He enjoyed fishing and working the family farm with his brother. Kirby was born on September 1, 1931 in Kirby, Arkansas the son of the late Carl and Lida Kersey. He was united in marriage to Donna Sparks in 1953, Donna preceded him in death in 2013. He later married Marie Morefield in 2013. Marie preceded him in death in 2018. Survivors include three daughters: Sharon Sparks of Roanoke, Suzan (Ed) High of Huntington, Sandra Kersey of Fort Wayne; two sons: David (Becky) Kersey of Huntington, Bob (Gina) Kersey of Amboy, IN; a sister: Quilla (Joe) White of Texas; a brother: Billy (Mary) Kersey of Arkansas; 15 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. No visitation or funeral service. Memorial donations can be made out to Donor’s Choice of Charity in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
