Loretta May Dutcher, 82, of Huntington passed away on Friday September 18, 2026 at her home. Loretta graduated high school in Hillsdale Michigan. She had worked in the cafeteria at Crestview Middle School for over 25 years. Prior to that she was a stay at home mother who raised her children. Loretta was a member of the Huntington Women's Auxiliary and College Park United Brethren Church. She enjoyed singing in the church choir, teaching Sunday School classes, and helping with the children's activities.
Loretta was born on September 22, 1943 in Marshall Michigan, a daughter of the late Francis and Lois Whiting.
She was united in marriage to Eldon Dutcher in Hillsdale Michigan. Her husband survives in Huntington.
Additional survivors include three sons: Roger (Julie) Dutcher of Plainfield, Ray (Heidi) Dutcher of Waynetown, and Ron (Keiko) Dutcher of Okinawa Japan; a brother: Larry (Joann) Whiting of Hillsdale Michigan; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister: Carolyn Whiting.
A visitation will be held on Thursday September 24, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, located at 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington IN 46750.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday September 24, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. immediately following the visitation at the Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel.
Interment will be held at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery
