

Maxine M. (Jacobs) Dinius, 94 of Huntington passed away on July 23, 2015 in Michigan. We say goodbye to our beloved mother and grandma. Maxine was a bright light in a sometimes dark world. She was our teacher and never wavered as the foundation in our lives. She grounded us with love, she lifted us in loss. She set an example of love, strength and grace that will carry each of us forward, in our lives always. While we mourn our loss, we celebrate a great life.
Maxine was born on August 20, 1921, the daughter of Liam and Edra Joacobs.
She was united in marriage to her husband Richard for 50 years and together they had three beautiful children: Gerald (G.R.) Dinius, Harold (Harry) Dinius, and Edra (Dinius) Merritt.
Maxine was welcomed home by her parents: Liam and Edra, her husband: Richard, a brother: Homer (Jake) and children: Harold and Edra and many other family members and friends.
Maxine leaves behind her eldest son G.R. and his wife Flora, who cared for her in their home in Howell, Michigan, following the death of her daughter Edra. They made sure that she was surrounded with a tremendous amount of love in her final days.
She leaves behind her son-in-law: Jack Merritt of Indiana and seven grandchildren: Julie Dinius Johnson of Sterling, TX; Judy Dinius of MI; Tammy Holman of WA; Tony (Enya) Holman of WA; Wade (Xu) Dinius of OR; Michelle Dinius of NC and Heath Dinius of TX, four great grandchildren: Kyle (Judy), Katelynn (Heath), Alex and Jade. One great-great granddaughter: Adison and her dear friends: the “Penguins” and the McDonald’s crew.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
