Minnie L. Ridenour Bowman

Minnie L. Bowman, 87 of Huntington passed away at 5:46 am on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Huntington. Minnie had worked for 10 years at Wabash Magnetics, retiring in 1995. After retirement she worked part-time in the cafeteria at Crestview Middle School. She spent many years waiting tables at the Heidelberg Club. She was a member of Union Church, and was also a member of the VFW Post 2689 and American Legion Post 7. She enjoyed spending time with her family playing bingo, casino trips, polka and square dancing. She loved to make people smile. Minnie was born on September 11, 1925 in Wabash, a daughter of Paul E. and Tena (Springer) Ridenour. Survivors include a daughter: Diane (Aaron) Biehl of Huntington; and Raymond Carpenter, father of Diane of LaFontaine; three granddaughters: Carmen (Rick) Waikel of Huntington; Teresa Dailey of Huntington; Sherry Biehl of Huntington; four great grandchildren: Kristie (Brandon) Zidar of Fort Wayne; Casey (Jessica) Brooks of Huntington; Alan (Ashley) Feighner of Huntington; Zachary Dailey of Huntington and nine great-great grandchildren; a sister: Mildred (Jack) Jacoby of Huntington; a companion: Bob Cline of Huntington. She was preceded in death by a brother: Bob Ridenour and a sister: Juanita Hiatt. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 29, 2013 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana. Funeral service will be held on Monday, July 29, 2013 at 1:00 pm following visitation at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel with Pastor Mark Hoffer and Dr. Howard Cherry officiating. Interment will be held at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Marion, Indiana. Memorial donations may be made out to Union Church in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
