Paul E. Humes

Paul E. Humes, 79 of Huntington passed away at 6:31 p.m. on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at the Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Paul was a 1954 graduate of Marion High school. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Airforce. He had worked at Hartson Kennedy Cabinetry for 5 years, was then a driver for UPS for 28 years, serving the Fort Wayne, Huntington and Marion areas. Most recently he worked at TI Automotive in Ossian for 6 years retiring in 2008. Paul attended the Huntington Baptist Church.

Paul was born on February 23, 1935 in Marion a son of Leon and Opal (Bagwell) Humes.

He was united in marriage to Shirley Winters in 1958; she preceded him in death on June 3, 1990. He then married Sue Willmeth on June 23, 1992. His wife survives.

Additional survivors include a son: Bryan (Tammera) Humes of Columbia City; five daughters: Annette (Marty) Sexton of Fort Wayne, Denise (Brian) Perrault of Michigan, Christine (Christopher) Davis of Wabash, Corlene (Christopher) Bragg of Huntington and Connie (Cory) Cartwright of Roanoke. 13 Grandchildren and 4 Great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Jack Humes and Dennis Humes and three sisters: Beverly Warnock, Eilene Timmons and Norma Bartholomew.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 28, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington, Indiana.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, September 29, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Huntington Baptist Church, 2435 Waterworks Rd., Huntington, IN, with Pastor Amos Albright officiating. There will also be on hour of visitation at the church prior to the service.

Interment will take place at the Covington Memorial Gardens in Fort Wayne.
