Robert H. Griffith

Robert H. Griffith, 88 of Huntington passed away at 9:40 a.m. on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at his residence. Robert attended Huntington Township High School. He was the manager of the trailer shop at Transport Motor Express in Fort Wayne for 27 years. He then was shop manager at Omni Source for 12 years, retiring in 1993. He was a member of the VFW Post 2689 of Huntington, he was a member of the Clear Creek Golf Course and he was a teamster member of local #414. He was a U.S. Veteran who served in the Army Air Corp.

He was born on August 4, 1923 in Huntington, a son of Carl and Mae (Collins) Griffith, Sr.

He was united in marriage to Donna D. Gibson on October 20, 1951 in Columbia City. His wife survives.

Additional survivors include a daughter: Lisa Griffith-Sorg of Roanoke; two sons: Dr. Robert L. Griffith of Kalamazoo, MI; Kris Griffith of Chicago and three grandchildren: Erica Griffith-Sorg, Beau Sorg and Austin Griffith.

He was preceded in death by a son: Michael Griffith and a brother: Carl Griffith, Jr.

A time of gathering will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2012 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana, with graveside services to follow the visitation at the Pilgrims Rest Cemetery.
