Rose Mary Harrison

Rose M. Harrison, 76 of Alexandria and formerly of Huntington passed away on Monday, December 7, 2015 at her residence. Rose was a 1957 graduate of Van Buren High School. She had worked at the Majestic Corporation in Huntington for 25 years. She was a former member of Central Christian Church in Huntington and was a member of The First Christian Church in Summitville, Indiana. She loved to sew, quilt and canning.

Rose was born on November 27, 1939 in Grant County, Indiana, a daughter of Earnest C. and Audrey D. (Bocock) Helvie.

She was united in marriage to Carl E. Harrison on February 26, 1960 in Huntington. He preceded her in death on December 6, 1997.

Survivors include two daughters: Audrey D. (Charlie) Hillegas of Anderson; Ralene Keyser of Huntington; a stepdaughter: Patricia (Terry) Kelsey of Huntington; a stepson: Steven M. Harrison of Elliotsville, IN; a brother: Earnest Helvie, Jr. of Upland; a sister: Sandra Brown of Marion; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; four step grandchildren and nine step great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, four sisters and a grandson.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 11, 2015 from 3:00 – 7:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 11, 2015 at 7:00 pm following visitation at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel with Pastor Chris Hayden officiating.

Private family interment will take place at Zion Cemetery in Huntington County.
