Steven "Steve" Lee Bickel 75, of Huntington, passed away on Tuesday evening, March 18, 2025 at The Heritage Pointe of Huntington. Steve enjoyed helping on his family's farm. He had worked at Majestic for a short while prior to working at PHD for 43 years. He was a member of St. Paul's County Line Church for all of his life. He enjoyed sports, especially Formula 1 racing, hockey, and attending his children's and grandchildren's activities. Steve loved woodcarving, and all of the traveling adventures with his wife and siblings. He especially enjoyed the movie "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles," and his favorite saying was "If you're going to do a job, do it right."
Steve was born on February 13, 1950 in Huntington, a son of the late Dean and Cora (Huffman) Bickel.
Steve was united in marriage to Ramonda Decker in Huntington on September 25, 1976. His wife survives.
Additional survivors include two sons: Andrew (Amy) Bickel of Lancaster OH and Aaron (Abby) Bickel of Danville; a daughter: Angelyn (Mike) Hoekema of Huntertown; a sister: Trish (Tom) Welch of Tacoma WA; a brother: Rod (Carlene) Bickel of Murfreesboro TN; and nine grandchildren: Logan Bickel, Alayna Bickel, Everly Bickel, Brittin Hoekema, Brooke Hoekema, Sean Hoekema, Peyton Bickel, Owen Bickel, and Kora Bickel.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister and brother-in-law : Sharon and Joe Stephen.
A visitation will be held on Sunday March 23, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at St. Paul's County Line Church, located at 3995 N 1000 W, Andrews, IN 46702.
A funeral service will held on Monday March 24, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. with one hour of calling prior to the service at St. Paul's County Line Church.
Interment will be at St. Paul's Cemetery.
