Thomas R. Beeks

Thomas R. Beeks, 66 of Poneto passed away at 5:19 pm on Sunday, November 23, 2014 at Lutheran Hospital. Thomas attended Huntington Township High School. He had worked as a master mechanic for the railroad, as a well driller and as a transportation professional for several years. He was a member of the Huntington A.B.A.T.E. and was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, outdoor activities such as hunting, boating and fishing. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was a very loving father and grandfather.

Thomas was born on May 23, 1948 in Huntington, a son of Leonard and Betty (Gamble) Beeks.

Survivors include his mother: Betty Beeks of Huntington; four sons: Jeff (Lillian) Beeks of Warren; John (Laura) Beeks of Bluffton; Joe Beeks of Huntington; Sam (Amber) Couch of Fort Wayne; a daughter: Lisa (Shaun) Leffler of Andrews; a sister: Susan Beeks of Huntington; a brother: Timothy (Teri) Beeks of Huntington; seventeen grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father: Leonard Beeks and a sister: Linda Sue Beeks.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 28, 2014 from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, November 28, 2014 at 1:00 pm following visitation at The Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel with Pastor Nile Bucher officiating.

Interment will be at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Marion.
