

Thurman L. Weaver, Jr., 96 of Huntington and formerly of Roanoke passed away at 5:30 am on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at Norwood’s Health & Rehabilitation Center where he resided since January 2010 and received great care from their staff as well as Heartland Hospice. Thurman was a 1937 graduate of Ossian High School. He was a dairy farmer until 1955 in the Roanoke and Zanesville areas and had worked at several different factories, retiring from M&S Sheet Metal in 1987. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Huntington. He enjoyed RV camping with his late wife and grandchildren.
Thurman was born on April 25, 1918 in Royal Oak, Michigan, the son of Thurman L. and Edna D. (Williams) Weaver, Sr.
He was united in marriage to Alma A. Graft on July 7, 1937 in Fort Wayne. They were married for 73 years. She preceded him in death on July 28, 2011.
Survivors include a son: A. Wayne (Joann) Weaver of Valparasio; two daughters: Damaris L. (Larry) Rader of Huntington; Janice J. Emley of Monticello, IN; eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren with two on the way.
He was preceded in death by a sister: Winona Smith.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2014 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at the Myers Funeral home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 11:00 am following visitation at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel with Pastor Gene Vickery officiating.
Interment will be at the Hoverstock Cemetery in Zanesville.
