

William “Bill” R. Quinn, 81, of Huntington, died at 12:25 AM on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Bill was a 1947 graduate of Andrews High School. Following graduation Bill served in the United States Army from 1948 – 1950 in Okinawa and then again from 1950 – 1952 in Korea. He worked as a deliveryman for REA Express from 1952 – 1975 and then as a deliveryman for Smith Furniture from 1975 until his retirement in 1992. Mr. Quinn was an active member of the Bethel United Methodist Church. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan. He enjoyed bluegill fishing.
He was born on December 16, 1929 in Huntington, a son of William Paul and Fearl Lucy (Hunter) Quinn.
Bill was united in marriage to Carolyn Garrison on January 10, 1953 at the Evangelical United Brethren Church in North Manchester. His wife survives.
Additional survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. Diane (Carl) Hockemeyer of Wolcottville and Mrs. Susan (Don) Fuess of Fort Wayne; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one brother, Richard Quinn of Lagrange, North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by two siblings, Wilma Watkins and an infant sister.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 30, 2011 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.
Services will be held on Monday, October 31, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Reverend Richard Bunnell officiating.
Burial will be in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in southern Huntington County.
