Wrethia E. McLaughlin, 83 of Andrews, passed away Wednesday evening June 24, 2026 at her son's home in Fort Wayne. Wrethia had attended Jefferson Township school in Huntington County. She later drove School bus for the Huntington County Community Schools for 30 years. Wrethia was a former member of the Etna Avenue Wesleyan Church. She enjoyed sports and played fast pitch softball for 20 years, she also played co-ed volleyball for many years. Wrethia loved spending time with her family, especially the grandkids. She enjoyed playing cards, reading, doing puzzles, family photo time and having cookouts with family and friends. Eating out was one of her favorite things to do, especially eating breakfast at the Country Post with her friends for over 35 years.
Wrethia was born on September 12, 1942 in Marion, a daughter of the late Murl and Mary (McFarren) Hall.
She was first married to Jack Peters Sr. in April of 1958. She later married Robert E. McLaughlin on May 15, 1976 in Marion. Bob preceded her in death on January 27, 2017.
Survivors include five children: Bev (Larry) Follin of Jefferson, OH, Jack (Librada) Peters of Palm Bay, FL, Kevin (Brenda) McLaughlin of Wichita, KS, Julie DeLeon of Decatur, and Aaron (Colette Bracken) McLaughlin of Fort Wayne; a brother: Ervin (Diann) Hall of Marion; seventeen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bob, a son Murl Mahlon Peters and six brothers: Milfred Hall, Leo Hall, Earnest Hall and infant brothers: Gordon Keith, Stanley Gene and Emerson Roy.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford St. Huntington, Indiana.
Funeral Services will take place on Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service.
Interment will take place in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in rural Huntington County.
