JOSEPHINE ELIZABETH ROLAND, 85, of Huntington, passed away Friday, March 22, 2013, in the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Funeral services will be conducted at noon Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at Chapman's Mortuary, with Pastor Trent Eastman officiating. Burial will be in Ridgelawn Memorial Park. She was born August 19, 1927, in Wise County, Virginia, a daughter of the late Edward and Gertrude Mullins Lawson. In addition to her parents, her husband Charles A. Roland and one daughter, Elizabeth Diane McAlister, also preceded her in death. She retired from Sears and Roebuck as a retail sales clerk. She was a member of the New Baptist Church, the Adult Bible Class, and the Sears Retiree Club. Survivors include two daughters, Debbie Mozingo and her husband Ray of Culpepper, Va., Nancy Spradling of Huntington; three sons, David Roland and wife Cindy of Wilmington, N.C., James Roland, Sr., and wife Eugenia of Huntington, and Danny Roland, also of Huntington; a son-in-law Gary McAlister; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
