MARION JIMMIE WILLETT, 82, of Roanoke, Va., formerly of Huntington, W.Va., passed away Thursday, March 14, 2013, in the Salem Veterans Administration Medical Center, Salem, Va. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, March 18, 2013, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Dr. David B. Lemming officiating. Burial will be in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington, with Masonic Graveside rites conducted by Western Star Lodge #11 AF & AM. Jim was born Nov. 4, 1930, in Ashland, Ky., a son of the late James Edgar and Julia Stewart Willett. His wife, Betty Jo Pugh Willett; a grandson, Shane Alexander Atkins; an infant brother, William Edward Willett; and a special friend, Betty Lou Porter, also preceded him in death. He was a retired credit controller for the former Huntington Department Store and Huntington Wholesale Furniture, and was a former Huntington Police Department Reserve Officer. He was a member of Lewis Memorial Baptist Church, American Legion, Western Star Lodge #11 AF & AM, and Beni Kedem Temple A.A.O.N.M.S. of Charleston, W.Va., 32 Degree Scottish Rite of Free Masonry, and was a lifetime member and Past Exulted Ruler of BPOE #313. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Cheri and Bill Atkins of Roanoke, Va.; and a granddaughter, Angela Atkins Gardner and husband Iain of Liberty Township, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Isaac and Evelyn Gardner; one sister, Jean Adkins of Camden, Del.; nieces and nephews, Deborah Russell of California, Rick Johnson of Florida, Michael Adkins, Theresa Lentz and Jennifer Grunden, all of Delaware, and Walter Adkins of Virginia.
