
Nancy was born in Abilene, Texas on November 10, 1952.
Nancy is survived by her father, Charles D. Lauw, sister Stacie and husband Bobby Tuggle, all of Clyde, Texas, three daughters, Shannon Newman and partner Kurt Walden of Huntsville, Texas, Bonnie Orr and husband Daniel of Temple, Texas, and Mary Lou Carpenter and partner Clint Wilson of Huntsville, Texas, she is also survived by her first husband, Freddy Newman of Clyde, Texas. Together, Nancy and Clyde had one daughter, Shannon; the late Ted Carpenter was Nancy’s second husband and together they had two daughters, Mary Lou and Bonnie. Nancy was preceded in death by Charles Decker and together, they shared 23 years of marriage.
Nancy loved her children unconditionally and enjoyed the time she spent with her family. She had one niece and one nephew, Courtney Miller and Bubba Tuggle. Nancy had one great niece, Tyler Rain Miller, and three great nephews, Joey, Tanner and Zane Tuggle. Grandchildren include Mollie Mays and husband Jonathon, Kyle Orr, Joshua Orr, Morgan Ramos and husband Tony, Robert Orr, Mack Mays, and Alisha Ferguson. She also had six great grandchildren, Carolina and Eric McClain, Isak and Anya’ Ramos, and Jessica and Dixie Orr and she was very proud of all of them.
Nancy was a devoted wife and mother who loved all things domestic— cooking, sewing, baking, gardening, canning, participating in her children's activities and creating a nurturing home for her family. She also had various jobs outside the home which included a short order cook, retail, and working at Stewart’s Nursery in Huntsville, Texas. She was known and loved by her patrons for her knowledge of plants, the time she spent teaching others about plants and for her green thumb.
Nancy’s favorite show was “Survivor” and she was a survivor in her own personal life. Nancy’s strong faith and love for her children and family will forever make an impression in their lives. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. She has gone to Heaven to join her mother, Bonnie Lauw and her brother, Charles David Jr. Lauw.
A memorial will be held on Sunday, December 12, 2010 at 1:00 pm at the Huntsville Funeral Home, 1215 15th Street, Huntsville, Texas.
