Ray Glen Pegoda

1932 - 2012

Ray G. “Big Buddy” Pegoda passed away on March 4, 2012, at his home in Huntsville. Ray was born on June 11, 1932, in Huntsville to E.F. and Clara Pegoda.

Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Jean Coburn Pegoda; daughter, Ernestine Pegoda; parents, E.F. and Clara Pegoda; grandsons, David Smith, Jared Neeley and Hunter Pegoda.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Beverly “Sissy” Pegoda of Huntsville; son, Eddie “Bubba” Pegoda and his wife Arleen of Huntsville; daughter, Kathy Pegoda of Bryan; Elaine “Doodler” Morrow and her husband Ricky of Willis; son, Ernie Pegoda and his wife Judy of Huntsville; Mary Alford and her husband Brad of Huntsville; brother, Jerry Pegoda and wife Carolyn of Huntsville; brother, Bobby Pegoda and wife Margie of Huntsville; 22 Grandchildren; and 17 Great Grandchildren.

Ray proudly served in the US Army. He loved to garden and enjoyed spending time outdoors often taking walks in the woods. He spent many hours sharing his legacy with his grandchildren who knew him as “Paw Paw” and he gave a special nickname to each of them as well.

Funeral services for Mr. Pegoda will be held Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at Huntsville Funeral Home with burial to follow at Bath Cemetery in Huntsville. Family will receive friends at Huntsville Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
