Vernon E. Garner

Vernon Garner was born January 9, 1940 to late Emory Lee and Addie Mae Garner. He passed away at age 71 on March 31, 2011 in Point Blank, Texas. Mr. Garner has been a resident of Point Blank since 2000, moving from Angleton, Texas. He worked as a truck driver for Chemical Leaman for 32 years.

Survivors include his wife Ila Ruth Garner of Point Blank, Texas; daughters, Trudy Dodge of Clute, Texas, Sharla Villarreal & husband Gilbert of Churchill, Texas; step-daughter, Melody Svetlik and husband John of Angleton, Texas; step-sons, Kenton Murray and wife Patti of Bastrop, Texas, Gerald Murray and wife Jessie of Austin, Texas; 5 brothers, 2 sister, 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephew and other relatives.

Funeral services for Mr. Garner will be held at 1P.M., Monday, April 4, 2011 at Willowhole Cemetery Chapel. Visitation will be held at Huntsville Funeral Home on Sunday, April 3, 2011 from 4-6 P.M.
