Born and raised in New Bedford, MA, she spent most of her adult life in Hyannis, MA. She enjoyed being around people, as shown by her life long career as a waitress where she found joy with the many she worked with and around.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother—a woman of beauty, character, strength and fierce love for her family. She showed us all what resilience and perseverance truly look like; never quitting to the very end.
Antonia is survived by her husband Antonio (Tony); her sons, Gary and Douglas Brito; and her daughter Lisa Fortenberry-Spaloss. She had four grandsons, Matthew, Patrick, Malik and Myles; and one granddaughter, Savannah.
They invite you to join them for a memorial service at 12:30 pm on Friday, February 21st, 2020 at Doane, Beal and Ames Funeral Home, 160 West Main Street, Hyannis, MA 02601.
As per Antonia’s wishes, her ashes will be scattered in a bed of flowers that will blossom as beautiful as she was to us all.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Boston Medical Center, Office of Development, 801 Massachusetts Avenue, First Floor, Boston, MA 02118-2393.
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.
