Bernadette Helene (Booth) Tremer, 89, of Centerville, MA passed away at her home on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of 66 years to August A. Tremer, Jr.
Bernadette was born and raised in the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia, PA. She lived in Wexford, PA just outside of Pittsburgh, before moving to the Cape 15 years ago.
Bernadette and her husband August had a long, loving and adoring relationship; they were truly soul mates. Before raising their family, Bernadette worked as a bookkeeper in the Insurance Industry.
Bernadette loved being a homemaker. She adored her seven children and was the quintessential care giver. Fifteen years after raising her children, she opened a home day care where she mothered and had a wonderful influence on countless children.
Bernadette was known for her sense of humor and love of learning. A lifelong reader, she kept up on current events, sharing her optimistic outlook and sense of humor with those around her. She was continually joyful and sweet to all, and her incredible kindness made her memorable to everyone she met.
Bernadette is predeceased by her daughter Sue Tremer (1971) and a brother Richard Baxter. She is survived by her beloved husband August; her adored children Mark Tremer of Columbus, OH; Ann Tremer of Hyannis, MA; Beth Herrick of Centerville, MA; Jane Carlson of West Barnstable, MA; Paul Tremer of Columbia, MD; Clare Tremer; her cherished grandchildren Katherine Herrick of Boston, MA; Matthew Tremer of Columbus, OH; Sara Ortiz Tremer of NY, NY; Christian Ortiz of NY, NY; Trevor Misplay of NY, NY; Theodore Tremer of Columbia, MD; Jack Wetter; Luke Wetter and her dear sister Barbara Arnoldy of Philadelphia, PA.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, October 26 at 11 am at the South Congregational Church, 565 Main Street, Centerville, MA 02632. A light lunch, served at the church, will follow.
